Inviting Members

Send and manage organization invitations

Invitations allow you to add new members to your organization by sending them a secure invitation link.

Sending Invitations

To invite a new member:

  1. Navigate to the Members page
  2. Click the Invite Member button
  3. Enter the invitee's email address
  4. Select their role (Owner, Admin, or Member)
  5. Click Submit

An invitation will be created and you'll receive a unique invitation link.

After creating an invitation:

  1. Copy the invitation link from the dialog
  2. Share the link with the invitee
  3. Ask them to visit the link and sign up or log in with the specified email address

The invitee must use the exact email address specified in the invitation to join.

Invitation Status

Invitations can have different statuses:

Pending

The invitation has been sent but not yet accepted. The invitee can still use the link to join.

Rejected

The invitation was declined by the invitee or cancelled by an admin.

Invitations also have an expiration date. When an invitation expires, it can no longer be used to join the organization.

Managing Invitations

Viewing Invitations

Navigate to the Members page to see all pending and past invitations in the Invitations section.

Resending Invitations

To resend an invitation link:

  1. Locate the invitation in the Invitations list
  2. Click the share icon next to the invitation
  3. Copy the invitation link from the dialog
  4. Share the link again with the invitee

Cancelling Invitations

To cancel a pending invitation:

  1. Locate the invitation in the Invitations list
  2. Click the cancel icon next to the invitation
  3. Confirm the cancellation in the dialog

Cancelled invitations cannot be used even if the invitee has the link.

Invitation Expiration

Invitations expire after a certain period. If an invitation expires:

  1. Create a new invitation with the same email address
  2. Share the new link with the invitee
  3. The expired invitation will be replaced automatically

Best Practices

Email Accuracy

  • Double-check email addresses before sending invitations
  • Ensure invitees know which email to use for sign-up

Role Selection

  • Choose the appropriate role based on responsibilities
  • Start with Member role and upgrade if needed

Invitation Management

  • Cancel unused invitations promptly
  • Monitor invitation status regularly
  • Clean up expired invitations
